Wineries

With its mild coastal climate and unusually rich soil, Oregon’s Willamette Valley is home to more than 200 wineries and six sub-appelations. Pinot noir is the most common variety produced, followed by pinot gris, riesling and chardonnay. Most wineries feature tasting rooms and have a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. Below are a few of our favorite wineries to visit.

If you are looking for a specific variety the Oregon Wine Board has a great search tool. Click the link below to give it a try.

Amity Vineyards is located in Yamhill County, Oregon just 7 miles from McMinnville. This region has been recognized as one of the premier Pinot noir producing areas in the world-rivaling the best in Burgundy. As one of Oregon's pioneer wineries, Amity Vineyards helped establish the area's reputation for world class Pinot noir as early as 1985, the year Robert Parker "Discovered Oregon," praising Amity Vineyards' 1983 Winemaker's Reserve Pinot noir.

"One of the best Pinot noirs I have ever tasted" - Robert Parker

Since the early days Amity has won many national and international awards. Although, best known for their Pinot noir, they have won awards for Riesling, Pinot blanc, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, and Gamay noir. Acclaim has also come from wine critics and writers such as Roy Andries DeGroot, Harvey Steinman, Anthony Dias Blue, Coleman Andrews, Robert Parker & Terry Robbards.

Their tradition of excellence continues. Amity Vineyards' Pinot noirs have taken back to back Gold Medals in the Oregon State Fair and the McMinnville Wine and Food Classic, two of Oregon's premier wine competitions. In a recent tasting of over 140 Oregon Pinot noirs held by the Wine Press Northwest, Amity Vineyards outperformed all other Oregon wineries with three wines rated "Outstanding" and one rated "Excellent". At the 2002 Northwest Wine Summit, Amity Vineyards received the "Award of Excellence", bringing home five medals in four different categories.

Tasting room 10 am to 5 pm March - December - Daily Winter - Friday - Sunday only

Pinot reigns supreme at Anne Amie Vineyards with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc forming the heart of our production. Complimenting the Pinot family, we also produce small selections of Riesling from our Willamette Valley estate vineyard on the hillside directly in front of the winery and Syrah, Viognier and a Cabernet blend called Belle Rouge, all produced from the warmer vineyards of southern Oregon. As with all great wines, ours start in the vineyards and we are fortunate to have some of Oregon's best sites, both those farmed by us and those we contract with to purchase. Our vineyards (as do the ones we purchase from) receive only the minimal required treatments and yields are severely reduced to yield fruit with great depth and complexity.
